Women Conference in Prishtina, Kosovo

On November 19-21, 2021 the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation was holding a Women Conference in Prishtina, Kosovo for the sisterparty LDK. The topic for the conference was “Political Campaign and The Goals of the Women’s Organisation”.
Philippa Broom, OBE and Former International Director of the Conservative Party in the UK, opened the conference. Different presentations of local speakers alternated with videos from international experts in political campaign were part of the program. High level politicians and members of LDK Women Organisation were invited to the conference.
 

Women Conference in Tirana, Albania

November 19-21, 2021, the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation invited high level politicians and members of the Women Organisation of the Democratic Party in Albania for a conference. The topic was “Political Campaign and the Women’s Organisation Goals”. For the opening, Anna-Maria Corazza Bildt, former Member of the European Parliament and Member of the Hjalmarson Foundation’s Board, held an inspiring speech to the participants on how to develop as a women in politics.

 

Women Conference in Banja Luka

October 22-24, 2021 the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation opened, together with Anna Maria Corazza Bildt, former Member of the European Parliament and Member of Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation  Board, the conference “Political Campaign and The Goals of the Women’s Organization”. Invited were high level politicians, members of the women organization of PDP from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Different presentations of local speakers and also videos from international experts in political campaign filled the program. Participants had as well time to build network among their organisation.

Women Conference in Tirana

October 15-17, 2021 the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation opened, together with Åsa Coenraads, Member of the Swedish Parliament, the conference “Political Campaign and The Goals of the Women’s Organisation”. During the weekend they were having different presentations of local speakers and also videos from international experts in political campaign. High level politician, members of the women organization of the Democratic Party of Albania, were invited.

New report calls for further support for Belarusian diaspora

In a recent report published by Alesia Rudnik, chair of the organization Belarusians in Sweden,  she calls for further actions against the dictatorship in Belarus.

The report, published Monday November 8th by Stockholm Free World Forum, highlights the important role that the Belarusian diasporas play in advocating freedom in Belarus. Rudnik argues that the stolen elections in August 2020 politicised the diaspora, and that the political crisis in Belarus has been a facilitator for further engagement in politics for many Belarusians living abroad.

She pointed out several recommendations for decision makers in Europe, such as providing financial support to Belarusian diaspora initiatives promoting civil society and democracy and providing protection for Belarusians working with the democratic movement. Furthermore, the EU should assist the Belarusian diaspora in establishing infrastructure for future technical and legal support for the democratic movement in Belarus.

 

Youth Conference in Banja Luka – Principles for a free society

Once again Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation and the sister party PDP in Banja Luka, Bosnia Herzegovina, held a Youth Conference on the subject “Principles for a free society”.
Thanks to digital technichs and a better Pandemic situation our work to educate young people continues, even though we hope that travelling conditions soon will get back to normal. The Conference was highly appreciated amoung the participants who successfully took part to establish deeper knowledge for their future in political engagement.

Conference Political Campaign and Women’s Organization Goals

Kyiv September 24-26, 2021

The Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation held the conference Political Campaign and Women’s Organization Goals for the Women organization of our sister party European Solidarity in Ukraine.

This partly digital conference gave the women organization the opportunity to learn and discuss more about the work in political campaigns as well as to hear local speakers on topics addressing their organization goals. During the weekend they were also to expand successfully their network inside the party. 

Conference Principles for a Free Society

Kyiv September 17-19, 2021

The Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation held the conference Principles for a Free Society for the youth organization of our sister party European Solidarity in Ukraine.

This partly digital conference gave young members the opportunity to learn and discuss more about the principles and work their network within their organization.

Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation congratulates Olof Ehrenkrona

This past weekend, ambassador Olof Ehrenkrona turned 70 years old. Olof Ehrenkrona has played a unique role in Swedish and European politics over the last five decades. Serving as chief of staff to Moderate Party leaders Gösta Bohman and Ulf Adelsohn in the 1980’s, he became head of policy planning to prime minister Carl Bildt 1991-1994. He has since then been appointed ambassador, served as consul general in Åland and has contributed as editorial writer at the Swedish daily Svenska Dagbladet and written several books.

As a long time partner and friend of the Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation, the foundation join with friends around the world in congratulating Olof Ehrenkrona on his 70th birthday.

 

Youth Conference in Tirana

September 17-19, 2021

The Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation educates in politics the youth organizations of our sister parties around the world.

Last weekend was dedicated to the young members of the Democratic Party of Albania.

They had a successful conference and great discussions on the Principles for a Free Society.
